Why Paslode partnered with Pattern: Lack of brand control, needed continued ecommerce growth
Before Paslode partnered with Pattern in 2018, numerous unauthorized sellers were flooding Amazon and disrupting prices. These unauthorized sellers were making it difficult for Paslode to continue growing their ecommerce business.
What Paslode and Pattern accomplished together
Paslode partnered with Pattern to gain back control of their ecommerce presence and grow their ecommerce business. Together Paslode and Pattern built a strategy focused on the following pillars:
- Executing new creative content
- Executing a compliance overhaul
- Stocking consistent inventory

**3 strategic pillars that helped Paslode grow **
1. Executing new creative content
To grow their revenue on ecommerce platforms. Paslode worked with Pattern to create product content that would match their high quality brand.
Pattern’s creative team worked on curating quality images and videos (as seen below) that educated the viewer and eventually led to a huge increase in sales.
A key part of this strategy was making all of Paslode’s product listings and content consistent across the board. Creating content that was on brand really unified all of the product listings.
These creative assets were all focused around showcasing Paslode’s quality and expertise to educate the consumer on the unique benefits their brand brings to the tool market.
Results of new creative content:
The new creative content the Pattern and Paslode created increased revenue immensely. Paslode year over year revenue increased by 122% in this last year and their top 10 products have averaged 241% year over year revenue growth.
2. Executing a compliance overhaul
We worked with Paslode to identify unauthorized sellers who were threatening Paslode’s control on Amazon and disrupting their prices.
This strategy was centered around using Pattern’s Predict software that helped Paslode uncover all of their current noncompliant sellers across Amazon. The visibility that Pattern’s Predict omnichannel ecommerce software provided helped Paslode identify key contributors to their control problems including channel conflict, price erosion, and inconsistent product listings.
After using Predict, Paslode was able to clean up their distribution network and remove unauthorized sellers causing channel conflict and price erosion.
Results of executing a compliance overhaul:
Because Paslode eliminated numerous unauthorized sellers, they were able to gain nearly complete control over their Amazon channel. Since taking care of unauthorized sellers, Paslode increased their Buy Box ownership from 39% to 90% in just one quarter.

3. Stocking a consistent inventory
After signing with Pattern, Pattern took over Paslode’s product distribution on Amazon. This included keeping the products stocked in our warehouse and shipping the product.
A key part of this strategy included making sure that Paslode’s product was in stock and shipped in a timely manner. Pattern’s warehouse experts handled this part of the strategy while Pattern’s team of customer support specialists handled customer complaints and questions with information provided by Paslode’s team.
Results of stocking consistent inventory:
Paslode’s average product rating is a 4.5/5 on Amazon partially because of the quality product Paslode provides but also because Paslode and Pattern are able to keep items in stock and provide quality customer service.
